Our Ballina Motel, Almare Motel was built in 1975 and bears its name from the Italian translation of “At The Sea”. After many owners, Erin Beattie and Nicole Blackmore purchased the property in mid-2018 as a family owned and run business, with the intention of updating and renovating the property.
Both have a lifelong history in the hospitality industry having worked in hotels and motels around the country. Erin is a chef by trade, and combined they have over 50 years experience. Together they plan to breathe new life into the Almare Tourist Hotel, bringing it into line with modern expectations by providing clean and comfortable accommodation at budget-friendly prices.
Situated in the main street of Ballina, the motel is conveniently located for shopping and eating out. It’s only a short drive to Ballina’s famous beaches and river, and 25 minutes to Byron Bay. It’s an ideal location for both long-haul commuters travelling up and down the east coast, or for those wanting a relaxing getaway in the beautiful Northern Rivers region.

“We like the corner room, it’s quiet and comfortable bed. We’ve stayed there before & will stay there again. The new owners are lovely & helpful. It’s not far to the shopping center in Ballina either Plus an added bonus is they are fully pet friendly – you can have your dog in the room with you! So will definitely use them if ever travelling with our fur babies.”
